In the centre of Castel del Piano, a medieval town on the slopes of Monte Amiata, stands the hotel and restaurant ‘Da Venerio’. Its owners, a family with over 50 years experience of providing Tuscan hospitality, create a welcoming atmosphere much appreciated by locals and international travellers alike. Recently renovated with traditional styling, the hotel has 42 large well appointed bedrooms, and all the comforts needed for a pleasant stay. The restaurant, composed of three large dining rooms, which seats 150 guests, offers all the typical dishes of our Amiata cuisine and finest local produce, such as ‘scottiglia’,‘baglione’ and local wild boar, all accompanied by the fine local Montecucco wine. Group bookings are welcome and the restaurant specializes in ceremonies and banquets.

Set in one of Italy’s most unspoiled environments, the hotel is an ideal base to discover the natural treasures of Monte Amiata. Forest paths offer wonderful walks and small country roads are ideal for mountain biking. Facilities are easily available for renting quads and horse riding.The famed hot springs of Saturnia, San Fillipo and Bagni Vignoni are all within easy reach, as is the splendid medieval abbey of San Antimo, where Gregorian chanting can still be heard. The Etruscan territory, with its towns of Pitigliano, Sorano and Savona and the Val D’Orcia, a UNESCO cultural heritage site, are all a short drive away. Only an hour from the beaches of the Maremma coast, Da Venerio offers the best of what Tuscany has to offer.
